Dave Hardman, strike chair and teacher for 26 years
speaks with a concerned parent Wednesday in the Parkland Parkland
Teachers’ Local 10 strike centre located at 4401 28 St. Stony Plain. The
strike centre receives hundreds of calls a day as the strike is now in
its third week. After one phone conversation with a parent Hardman said
“You know it’s getting bad when they are crying on the phone.”

Oliver has been visiting the pool for over 30 years. Staff says the pool
sees on average over 150 patrons go through the pool every day before

Peacha Atkinson, mother of slain 13-year-old Nina
Courtepatte wipes a tear at a rally held in front of the downtown Law
Court Monday morning. The rally called for tougher laws against violent
young criminals. Along with Atkinson, the parents of Josh Hunt, a
16-year-old who was stabbed at a party in 2005, and Shane Rolston, who
was also killed at a house party in 2005, were there to show their
support. The families have already collected over 40,000 signatures and
will be presenting them to Ottawa to get the law changed. Edmonton Sun /
