I am extremely honored to win 2nd place National Feature
Picture of the Year and 2nd place National Illustration/Fashion picture
of the year.

As part of the story below, I have also been documenting
an inner city bottle depot. This is by no means a complete work, but if

I have been doing a photo story on an alcoholic named
Mike. He is suffering from several ailments that keep him from being
able to work, including degenerative arthritis in his back.  Mike
doesn’t like taking pain killers so instead he goes out every morning
and picks bottles and cans. He averages about $10/day which is enough to
buy a 6-pack. Above is an average day for him, picking, going to the
bottle depot, and then buying 6-12 beer.

Mike has an amazing and uplifting story. I have been
working on this as an audio slideshow. You’ll see the finished project
someday 😉

1920’s Saskatoon) and there is a replica of The Daily Phoenix which
eventually became The Star Phoenix where I did my first internship.

An RCMP officer is seen walking through the blizzard
like weather at the scene of a crash involving two semi trucks and an
Acura car about three kilometers north of Nisku. One person was taken to
hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic was backed up about
