Judy Stanley wife of deceased school bus driver Robert

Thursday afternoon with with Robert Stanley’s son Wayne Stanley, right,
resting his arm on her shoulder. One of the youths accused in the man’s
death had a sentence hearing. Robert Stanley had died after a rock was
thrown off of a pedestrian footbridge over the Whitemud and onto his

Spectators cover their ears as Bruce Liton races his
Nitro drag car against Mitch King at the Rocky Mountain Nationals at the
Castrol Raceway. Liton won the race with a 4.76 second quarter mile time
going 304.94 miles per hour when he crossed the finish line.
Doug Foley shoots flames from his nitro dragster as he takes off in a race against Clay Millican at the Rocky Mountain Nationals at the Castrol Raceway. Millican went on to win the race with a time of 4.63 seconds for a quarter mile. Foley had a time of 4.84 seconds. |
Neil Smith races his JCB tractor with a 1,300 horsepower big block Chevy engine in it. He crossed the 1/4 mile mark over 79 miles per hour at the Rocky Mountain Nationals at Castrol Raceway. This was the tractor’s first time drag racing. |

A speed limit sign and a tree are bent onto the ground
after a car crash involving two cars racing Monday night.
Russell Scriba had a near death experience Tuesday when
a large metal winch used for tightening tie-down straps on a flat bed
semi truck fell off of a truck and hit his windshield while he was
driving south on HWY-2 near Nisku. He was a minute away from his work
and was still able to make it with no injuries.

Tim Cusack does his best Don Cherry impersonation beside
a cardboard cutout of Ron MacLean at the CBC Stage in City Centre Mall
Friday. Cusack won the first place prize of two tickets to see the
Stanley Cup.

One of 69 year-old Donna McPherson dogs eats what
appears to be a decomposing dog covered in flies at her place just south
of Buck Lake which has been deemed a “Puppy Mill”. The ASPCA
counted over fifty dogs and removed six with various eye and head
